📞 Call: 608 275 667Cleaning After Collision — How It Works
After a car accident, debris, vehicle parts, glass, hydraulic fluids, and other hazards remain on the road. We take action — we clean the road, remove dangerous elements, and restore traffic flow.
We cooperate with the police and road managers. Upon arrival, we assess the scale of the hazard, collect debris, clean the surface, and secure the site. The road should be passable as soon as possible — we work on that.
What is cleaned after a collision
After an accident, everything that poses a threat to traffic is cleaned:
- Debris and vehicle parts scattered on the road
- Glass and plastic from broken windows and lights
- Hydraulic fluids, fuel, engine oil
- Metal and rubber parts strewn on the road
- Tires and rims — if they have come off
- Securing the accident site with tape and signs
When we report the cleaning work
Cleaning up after a collision is the responsibility of the entity responsible for the road:
- Public roads — the Provincial or County Road Authority is obligated
- Municipal roads — the municipality or city is obligated
- Highways and expressways — the operator (e.g., GDDKiA) is obligated
- Private roads — the owner of the road is responsible
Collision cleanup procedure
Step-by-step procedure:
- Notification — we receive a call from the police, road manager, or insurers
- Situation assessment — we arrive, assess the extent of the hazard and debris
- Securing the site — we set up warning signs, tape to cordon off the area
- Debris collection — we collect vehicle fragments, glass, plastic into special containers
- Surface cleaning — washing the roadway, removing traces of fluids (fuel, oil)
- Final check — we ensure that the road is safe for traffic
- Documentation — we prepare a report on the cleanup work
Is the cleanup after a collision insured?
Yes. The costs of cleanup are covered by the road manager or the insurer of the accident's perpetrator:
- If the perpetrator is identified — the mandatory liability insurance of the perpetrator must cover the cleaning costs
- If the perpetrator is not identified — the costs are covered by the road manager (from the public budget)
- Assistance policy — some policies include coverage for cleaning costs
We issue an invoice — it is then settled with the appropriate institution.
How much does cleaning after a collision cost
The price of cleaning depends on the scale of the hazard:
- Minor collision (glass, small fragments) — 200–400 PLN
- Medium collision (debris, vehicle fragments) — 400–800 PLN
- Serious accident (large debris, fluids) — 800–1500 PLN
- Additional services — road washing, oil removal — 200–500 PLN

Frequently asked questions about cleaning after a collision
The road manager is responsible (Provincial Road Authority, municipality, GDDKiA). They can outsource the work to an external company — us. We start cleaning at the request of the manager or police order.
Technically, the road manager is obligated to finance the cleaning. However, if the road is at risk — you can call us. We will take care of it, and the bill will go to the road manager.
Turn on hazard lights, move the vehicle to a safe place, put on a reflective vest, call the police (997) and us. The police will report the cleaning to the road manager.
Minor collision — 30–60 minutes. Medium collision — 60–120 minutes. Serious accident — 2–4 hours. It depends on the extent of the hazard.
You shouldn't. It's dangerous — there may be sharp fragments, electrical hazards, infectious materials. The police prohibit the injured party from cleaning the road themselves. It's the road manager's responsibility.
If the perpetrator is identified — their liability insurance. If not — the road manager. You do not pay directly — we issue an invoice to the appropriate institution.
We collect it in special containers — glass in a separate container, metal in another, plastic separately. We transport it to the appropriate recycling point or landfill.
Basic cleaning — yes (collecting debris). Washing the roadway (removing oil/fuel stains) — this is an additional service. We can add it for an extra fee.
The police usually stay at the scene for 1–2 hours. We can start working after the police report to the road manager — often this happens simultaneously.
Yes. Available around the clock — day, night, weekend, holidays. Just give us a call.
